Cca Treated Timber

Who can I contact in Australia about the effects of creosote posts to people working with them?
They (timber companies) have changed the way they treat creosote posts. Now, you get pigment emulsified creosote. (I think this is supposed to be more environmently friendly. I read that they were allowing it to be used on railway sleepers in Germany, so I guess the old stuff was banned.)Anyway, it makes people who handle them sick. We’ve been handling creo posts for years and have never felt or been sick ’til they changed the way they’re treated. I’ve hunted for info on the net, but I haven’t been able to find a “complaints department”. This stuff needs to be banned. A lot of what I have read says that it is probably carcinogenic. I know people want to ban CCA posts, but where are the people who want to ban Creo? Its banned in a lot of overseas countries and it needs to be banned here. Help! Please don’t suggest protected clothing and masks, we’ve tried that and it makes no difference!
The simplest way to get information is to call poison control. It seems that you already have the information that you are asking about. Creosote is a poison and can cause cancer. Avoid it.
The strangest thing is that it is used in Japan as an over-the-counter medicine for food poisoning and diarrhea.
Building raised garden beds with railway sleepers (don’t try it)
