Laminated Timber

Can you tell me anything about laminated timber beams?

Hi Im doing product design at A-Level and I need to carry out some research on laminated timber beams. Can anyone give me some information about them such as uses, cost, design etc. Any websites would be useful but anything you can tell me would be much appreciated.

I have worked with them for years and they Rock. They give a fantastic modern look when put with S/Steel and can look great with old rusty metal if stained. The strength is fantastic for structural work and they can be engineer rated. The span of a Glue Lam can be many metres plus if sealed well they last in an out door environment. The other great thing about them is they can be made to any shape. As for the web sites just look them up as if you are looking to purchase a few for a big job.
