Pine Lumber

How many board feet of lumber is in a metric ton of wet red pine?
It depends on the species, the log size, and what is being sawed. Some woods are more dense and weigh more than others, there is less waste from a large log than a small one, and, for example, sawing timbers from a log rather than 1×4′s will give you a different yield. Lots of timber is sold by the ton and it can range from as little as two to seven tons per thousand board feet. Industry standards is an average of four short tons to a thousand board feet. That is what most timber is bought and sold at.
